While staying at Spence and Penny’s farm, we planned a drive through the nearby national parks and along the coastal tracks. The group met at the front of Penny’s house where I gave the brief overview of the day's planned activities.

We set off and headed towards Boranup Karri Forest via Boranup Drive where we aired down, before continuing along the track. Whilst airing down Simon found a stick insect hitching a ride on Paul’s wheel. He was safely returned to the forest.

After a short drive, we turned left onto Allan Road for about a kilometre then turned left again onto Point Road. At the T- junction and turned right towards our first stop, Merchant rock.

While parking we spotted a low-flying hawk. The walk down to the rocks offered spectacular views and the sea level was noticeably high.

We followed the coastline to North Point, via Conto Road, turning left onto the Cape-to-Cape track. The terrain varied from rocky sections to sand with the scenery ranging from low lying coastal scrub to tall forest trees. After turning right onto Georgette Road, the uphill rocky and rutted out climb proved challenging to some drivers.

Continuing south onto Trig Road and then onto North Point Road, we arrived at North Point for a lunch break. Some members swam, while others explored the surrounding rock formations.

After approximately 40 minutes, we returned along the Cape-to-Cape track, listening to Keith share insights from his recent walk on the route. We then continued onto Trig Road, turned left onto Grace Road and followed it back to Boranup Road.

The group chose not to air up, as there was interest in driving Bob's Track to watch the sunset. We slowly made our way back to Penny and Spence’s property.

Thanks to everyone who came along and braved the cool sea water. It was a brilliant day out.

Cheers, All Trackers.

Diane.
