Wayne and Sandie left Perth, heading towards Hyden, where we met up with Sean.
After meeting in Hyden, we headed towards the Holland Track where we camped just south of
Emu Rock for the night.
Let the adventure begin...

Day 2 - (Good Friday 3.4.26)
Started travel along the Holland Track, which turned out to be extremely dry. It didn't seem to have received the rain that was expected.
While it was dry, we still managed to get bogged and had to winch out within the first 5km.
Both Sandie and Wayne were winched twice in the first day, getting their ambitions and abilities
mixed up.
We stopped to look the Mallee fowl bird's nest. The Mallee fowl was nowhere to be found. Around 60km achieved on the day with lots of mud fun and laughter.

Day 3 - (Saturday 4.4.26)
Day 3 saw us stopped at Native rock, Centenary rocks and Krakourer Rocks for some walking, rock climbing and 4wd action pics. Sean decided to check the flex on his suspension with a rear wheel lift.
We signed the Holland trip book to let everyone know that Alltracks 4wd club was in town.
100km travelled for the day.

Day 4 - (Sunday 5.4.26)
Happy Easter.
Headed towards Thursday Rock where Sean flew the drone while Sandie and Wayne went for a walk. Back on the track we found our fair share of mud holes and fun before finishing the Holland track.
We all decided the trip wasn't over and headed towards Cave Rock Road, where we came across a Ford Ranger in need of some assistance. The family of four had blown the side walls out of two wheels and had run out of repair bungs.
Being the good Samaritan Alltracks members that we are, we assisted him with some repair bungs. However, they kept blowing out, so we swapped his rear tyre with Sandie's spare and got them moving again.
The only problem was, we had to travel with them for an extra 45km out of our way to Widgiemooltha, where they could source new tyres. They were extremely gracious and thankful for our help.
We camped just off the side of the road that night, we were all pretty cooked.
Day 5 - (Monday 6.4.26)
We left the bush camp for the night and headed back towards cave rock again. On the way there was water on the main road which required a little bit of skill and daring to get through.
Being the adventurous group that we had become, we found a short cut to Cave Rock camp site which had the same vibe as the Holland Track and some deep, wet, muddy holes which we conquered with great fun and huge grins 😀 on our faces.
After a quick feed and drink we headed out to walk up Cave Rock, which is well worth the drive. The rock has 3 caves in various sizes, again, well worth the look.
After that, we had a short rest before heading out to see the 3 dams and walk around them. Definitely worth a look. Who would have thought you could have a dam on a rock formation, let alone 3 of them?
The day wasn't done yet, so we drove around the rock to the other side where we found some fresh water 💦 to drive into and gave the cars a quick wash, which was sorely needed. The cars were covered in dirt and mud from the antics of the last 4 days. After the wash we set up at main camp for the night, a beautiful spot with great facilities.
Day 6 - (Tuesday 7.4.26)
Packed up camp, had a look at the main dam where we got some beautiful photos of the area and the cars. From there we left Cave Hill campground and travelled along Cave Hill Road for one last blast of mud, as the final destination was Hyden.
Stopped into McDermott Rock on the way, had a quick walk and a couple of pics before continuing to drive to Hyden where we stayed at Wave Rock Caravan Park. Both Sean and I were in need of a bath to remove the mud dust and red dirt.
Sean and Wayne polished off a bottle of Sheep Dog and slept like babies.
Day 7 - (Wednesday 8.4.26)
Left wave rock, fuelled up and headed for home.
Thanks to Sandie and Sean for coming along for the adventure and shenanigans of the Holland Track.
