ANZAC day gave us another opportunity to camp on the block in Karridale. People arrived on Thursday or Friday. The highlight was a beautiful ANZAC day dawn service led by Diane and Simon.

A number of club members have served and it was very special standing together on a beautiful morning in the Aussie bush to pay our respects. This was followed by a traditional Gunfire breakfast (including the rum). Later Ivo and Lucy attended the parade in Augusta.

The weekend activities were mainly social / tourist although Don and Roger spent a day exploring some of the tracks round the Blackwood river, and Dave took a run down Bob's track to the beach.

Saturday afternoon some of us went to the raptor centre. All the birds are rescued and unable to be returned to the wild. The flying display was awesome.

On Sunday Jane and Don needed to leave early and the rest of us got together for breakfast. Mornings are beautiful in Karridale. Then we all went off to do various tourist stuff.

Diane and Simon visited the Jewel Caves.

Quite a few of us went down to Leeuwing lighthouse and climbed to the top. Great view but I am terrified of heights - I am not smiling in that picture, I am gritting my teeth in terror.

The remainder of the day included a drive to skippy walk, a walk down the coast and lunch at Karridale Tavern - Its a tough life!

One of the best things about these trips is being able to sit around and just chat. The wildlife likes to join in too. The possum paid us a nightly visit and the frogs sang in the background.

Thank you to everyone who came, it was a lovely relaxing weekend.
