Attendees:
Tony (Trip Leader): FJ
Ivo: Landcruiser
Henry and Peter: Landcruiser
Chris and Deb: Prado
Wayne: GU Patrol
Di and Simon: Pajero Sport
Andrew and Yih: Fortuner
Lin: FJ
Sandie and George: GU Patrol
James: Hilux (visitor)
Keith: Raptor (Tail end Charlie)

We all met at Centre Way and Gnangara Road. It was meant to be 9:00 for 9:30am start, but we were all there by 9:15. After the introductions & preamble stuff (including at least one dad joke) we aired down and headed off around 9:22.

We started straight off into soft sand and piles of dumped stuff and spent most of the day exploring soft sand tracks, with Keith as tail end Charlie.

Our first challenge was a small soft sand hill. It was great to see everyone get up it without any dramas. This was Sandie’s first challenge in her newly acquired Patrol. Photos don’t do it justice,

coz it was fun.

We then ventured to a couple of sand pits where various attendees facilitated sand-recovery practice for the group. Di’s was more traditional, dig and recover, whereas Ivo was tenacious in getting out under his own steam (with a little push from Keith and myself).

Special thanks to Henry for snapping a couple out.

I had a great day, and hope others did too – we finished around 1:00ish, so it was quite a relaxed half day. Thanks to all who attended and to Keith for being tail end Charlie.

I think it would be great to revisit the Pines after some rains. It was clear there would be a few puddles and bog holes so will try and schedule one for July.
