Friday 2 March - Monday 5 March, 2018

Somewhere, somehow, I have ended up writing the trip report. I am not entirely sure how it happened – so here it goes, in my very ‘light on’ knowledge of cars (sorry fellas!).

Trippers

Shane, Ethan & Jules (silver car); Dave & Cindy (white car); Sean (another dark car) Gary (bigger car - white); Jon & Sue (biggest car - white).

Day 1 - Friday 2 March

We decided we would go down South early to stake out a good camping spot for the Trippers in the dunes near the beach. After a quick stop over in Busso on the Thursday night with relatives, we still didn’t manage to leave until around noon on Friday for Pemberton. The trip to Pemby however was smooth and pretty much traffic free. If you have never been to Yeagarup, they are some seriously big bloody sand dunes and as you come out of the bush and see them for the first time, they are breathtaking in their scope.

After a quick reccy of camping spots we found a hollowed-out area where we could all fit…probably… (but as it turned out, not) and camp in as protected an area as we could find. Good plan – the wind was howling its guts out and putting up the tent was a challenge (particularly as it was the first time for this set up for us).

Day 2 (or possibly Day 1 still for some of the Trippers) - Saturday 3 March

Jon was excited about everyone arriving – he got up early (unheard of event) and was pottering around outside the tent. Things were suspiciously quiet when I stuck my head out for a looksee…

Meanwhile, back in the City it was decided an early start was required…

I asked the boys to write a few words about their trip down and the trips they made while down south (I may or may not have been absent due to being attacked by my pillow)….
