Participants:

Peter Moy (trip leader) & Deb Wilkes – Ford Ranger

Lindsay Arcus – FJ Cruiser

Alan Elshaw – Nissan Patrol

Ivo Miletic – Landcruiser 73

Don & Roger Speldewinde – Nissan Patrol

Dave Spagnolo – Landcruiser 78

Josh White – Ford Ranger

Meet & Briefing – Oven Door Bakery

The convoy assembled at Oven Door Bakery – Café Drover for coffees, pastries and a relaxed morning briefing.

We welcomed three visitors to the club: Dave Spagnolo, Deb Wilkes and Josh White. Introductions were made, and everyone settled in for the day’s run.

Air‑Down – Gnangara–Moore River State Forest

The group travelled via Haddrill Road to the entrance of the Gnangara–Moore River State Forest off Old Yanchep Road.

Tyres were aired down, radios checked, and the convoy rolled into the tracks.

Ridges Hut

Ridges Hut was found in reasonable condition.

Two vehicles and three members of the public were already present. They appeared surprised by the arrival of a full All Tracks convoy but were friendly and treating the hut respectfully.

A clean‑up was carried out, with rubbish collected and removed. With no break planned here, the group continued deeper into the forest.

High Hill – Sand Hill Fun

A highlight of the day was the steep sand hill — the eponymous “High Hill”, well‑known for both its height and reputation.

Every vehicle made a successful ascent. A special mention goes to newcomer Deb Wilkes, who climbed High Hill confidently on her first attempt. Plenty of smiles and light‑hearted banter made this a great part of the run.

No incidents or recoveries were required.

Moitch Hut – Tea, Coffee & Biscuits

Moitch Hut was also in reasonable condition, and another clean‑up was completed.

This was our main break for the day, with tea, coffee and biscuits enjoyed in the shade before heading out for the final leg.

Trip End

The day wrapped up smoothly and without incident. A quick air‑up, a few final chats, and everyone departed in good spirits.

Thanks to all participants — and a warm welcome to our three visitors — for making it an enjoyable and easy‑going Huts Run.
