Not Whale Watching in Augusta

Our planned whale watching trip was cancelled due to rough seas. Nevertheless the group still decided to go down to Karridale. With the catamaran still in harbour, the nearest we got to whales was the picture on the whale watching tours advertising board.
Saturday morning we went for a walk on the Leeuwin Biddi trail from Granny's Pool to the Lighthouse (although some took a drive round the area instead looking for high points to try and see whales from the shore.) It is a beautiful stretch of coastline.
After scones, jam and cream and/or ice creams at the Lighthouse Cafe we did the obligatory trip down Bob's track. It was so much quieter than when we are there on Aussie day, but there was still someone bogged on the beach, although they got out without assistance.
Spence meanwhile had been back at the block making sure there was enough wood to build a fire that satisfied Dave.
The rain from the previous evening stayed away and the evening was finished in traditional Karridale style round a blazing fire.
Thanks to the members that joined us for what was still a lovely weekend regardles so fthe lack of whales.
